Codification for the McLouth City Code is complete and was adopted on February 27, 2020.
What is Codification?
By definition: the action or process of arranging laws or rules according to a system or plan.
How does it help you?
The City works out of the McLouth City Code Book. That book creates the laws of our city. When an ordinance is passed, that changes the laws of the city. When you have many ordinances passed, over time, it makes it hard, for the citizien to find the most current law. The ordinance supersedes the code book. The Codification brings everything together, in one book, so you can find what you are looking for fast and easy.
Codification needs to be done, at a minimum, of every 5 years to keep everything up-to-date and current.
The last codification was done in 2012 now 2020.
Prior to 2012, codification was done in 1984.
