Tuesday is Trash Day                                                                                                       

By Ordinance:

Set out Trash after 5:00 PM the day before service.

Empty containers must be removed from street by 8:00 AM the day after service 

Trash Service:
Service starts at 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday mornings.

Holiday schedule will affect the day of pickup. 

Recycling:
Inland Waste Solutions, LLC offers recycling for a
set amount per month, cart provided.

Pick up will be the 2nd Friday of every month.

Big Items:

• Furniture, appliances, cabinets, etc.
  will be picked up free of charge
  (limit one item/ customer/ week) OR Carpet rolls: 5 ft in length (10 rolls per week)
• 5- 30 gallon containers of yard waste per week.
• Uncontainerized rubbish will be trimmed,
  cut and tied securely in bundles of less than
  3 feet in length and 2 inches in thickness,
  weighing not more than sixty-five (65) pounds
  with a limit of 5 bundles per week.
• Containers for households must be 35 gallons or less, no less than 15 gallons, must have handles (no barrels)
• Tree limbs/branches must be no longer than 3 ft, 2inches in thickness, and must be bundled in bundles not weighing more than 65 pounds with a limit of 5 bundles/week.

Recycling Dumpster at City Hall: 

The City of McLouth offers a recycling dumpster to those wishing to recycle. Due to items being deposited that did not belong, you will need to check out a key prior to using the recycling dumpster. You will need to sign an agreement stating that you will only deposit recyclable items. 

Keys are available for checkout during regular business hours. M,T,TH, F: 8-12 then 1-4. Wed: 1-4. 

Large Item Trash Dumpster: 

This dumpster is used for UTILITY CUSTOMERS ONLY!  It is part of the trash service that the utility customers pay for. Utility customers may dump 1 truck load per day. NO TIRES, BATTERIES, ASBESTOS OR PAINT. If you cannot get a large item in the dumpster, set it by the side, we can assist. All other trash needs to be placed inside the dumpster. Please note: this dumpster is not always available; we are allowed 6 free per year. We keep it until it is full and bring it back as requested, generally every other month.
