Meet Amanda Karmann – City Clerk & Court Clerk

The City of McLouth is proud to welcome Amanda Karmann as our new City Clerk & Court Clerk! Amanda officially joined the city staff on November 26, 2024, and brings a wealth of experience, dedication, and a deep-rooted connection to the McLouth community.

A True McLouth Native

Amanda is no stranger to McLouth—she was born and raised here, graduating from McLouth High School. Her commitment to the community extends beyond her professional role, as she and her husband, Charles, have built their life just outside of town. They have been part of the McLouth area for years, raising their two children, Wyatt and Josephine, who currently attend McLouth Schools. Amanda's personal investment in the community gives her a unique understanding of the needs and values of its residents.

A Strong Background in Public Finance & Government Administration

With over two decades of experience in government finance, Amanda is well-prepared to take on her new responsibilities. She began her career at the Jefferson County Treasurer’s Office, where she held multiple key positions, including Bookkeeper and Tax Clerk from 2002 to 2013. Her hard work and expertise led her to the role of Deputy Treasurer in 2016, where she remained until 2024.

During her time in Jefferson County, Amanda became known for her commitment to financial transparency, accurate reporting, and responsible fiscal management. She played an integral role in handling public funds, streamlining financial processes, and ensuring compliance with government regulations. Her extensive experience in tax collection, investment management, and budgeting will be invaluable as she transitions into her role with the City of McLouth.

Commitment to McLouth’s Future

As City Clerk & Court Clerk, Amanda is eager to apply her skills to benefit McLouth and its residents. She will be responsible for maintaining accurate city records, overseeing financial transactions, and ensuring efficient court operations. More importantly, she is committed to:
